Terms & conditions
These terms apply to customers using the CAKE WHORE website. They reflect how this marketplace actually works today — including where payment is not yet enabled.
Last updated: 26 August 2026
Who we are
CAKE WHORE operates this website as a UK online marketplace for occasion desserts. For customer orders placed through the platform, CAKE WHORE is the seller of record. Independent bakers are disclosed producers — UK food business operators (FBOs) who make the products.
Formal registered company details for the trading entity (company number, registered office, VAT registration where applicable) are not yet published on this site. Until they are confirmed, see Contact.
Who makes the food
CAKE WHORE does not bake or hold stock. Each listing names the baker (trading name) and shows premises information used for attribution. The composite disclosure takes the form: food made by the named baker at their premises on behalf of CAKE WHORE.
Bakers must complete FBO verification before any product can be published. Draft listings are not shown to the public.
Eligibility
You must be able to enter a binding contract under the law of England and Wales and provide accurate delivery and contact details where required for an order or enquiry.
Product listings
Listings are supplied by bakers. Prices are shown in pounds sterling. Descriptions, ingredients, and allergen declarations are the baker’s declarations, published verbatim — CAKE WHORE does not rewrite them.
Availability, lead times, and dispatch information may be unknown or supplier-declared. Where a date is unknown, the site shows that honestly rather than inventing one.
Two ways to buy
Postable cakes (Route A) may be added to a basket for UK chilled postage at a fixed rate of £15.99 when payment is enabled. A basket may contain products from only one baker.
Non-postable cakes (Route B) (for example many multi-tier centrepieces) cannot enter the basket. Customers submit an enquiry for a quote, typically for local delivery or collection as agreed with the baker. Nothing is charged for an enquiry.
Ordering and payment
Card payment is intended to run through Stripe Checkout once payment processing is configured. Payment is not currently enabled on the live site: checkout will refuse to create a payable order until Stripe is properly configured. Do not assume a completed payment unless you receive a confirmed paid order.
When payments are live, you will provide email and delivery address details to complete checkout. Order status and payment confirmation will follow the platform’s order and webhook processes.
Fulfilment and delivery
Postable orders use fixed UK postage as shown at basket and checkout. Non-postable fulfilment is arranged through the enquiry / quote path. See Delivery information for the current model. We do not invent service-level guarantees beyond what listings and these pages state.
Bespoke and perishable goods
Many desserts are made to order, perishable, and may be personalised (messages, designs, sizes). That affects cancellation and return options — see Refunds & cancellations. Statutory consumer rights for faulty or misdescribed goods still apply.
Allergens and food information
Every published product must declare all 14 UK FIC allergens and a full ingredient list. You must review that information on the product page before ordering or enquiring. A general disclaimer does not replace product-specific information. See Allergen & food information.
Customer-provided information
If you supply wording for a cake message or dietary notes, you are responsible for their accuracy and lawfulness. Do not submit content that is unlawful, abusive, or infringes others’ rights.
Acceptable use
You must not misuse the site, attempt unauthorised access, scrape listings for competing catalogues, or interfere with bakers’ or other customers’ use of the service.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, CAKE WHORE is not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for failures caused by events outside reasonable control (including courier disruption after dispatch where the platform has fulfilled its obligations).
Complaints
Contact details for complaints about an order or listing will be published once the trading entity’s correspondence channel is confirmed. Until then, use the product enquiry path for baker-related quotes, and see Contact.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
